My name is Ryan Scherbarth, I am a Senior at the University of New Mexico studying Computer Science & Math, graduating in December 2024. I am working concurrent internships at Sandia National Laboratories, and The Center for Advanced Research Computing.

I have now transferred to the HPC Systems team, where I am working on optimization and benchmarking. I started at Sandia National Laboratories as a year round R&D intern in October 2022. On the Application Engineering team, I'm working on a variety of different projects that consist of full-stack web application development in Ruby on Rails.
Benchmarking, profiling & reporting. Workload management and resource allocation, assiting in workshops for CARC users, and holding open office hours for users.
As a peer mentor I have a number of new incoming students that I am responsible for helping with their transition into the UNM School of Engineering. I provide help with any questions they may have and direct to different resources available at UNM for student success.
I will be a faculty assistant for the CS491: HPC course at UNM. I will be assisting in the teaching of the course, as well as holding office hours for students & grading assignments.
I have been selected to join the Artifact Review Committee for the ICPE 2024 International Conference on Performance Engineering. I will be reviewing submissions for the Artifact Evaluation Track.
We will be competing virturally in the ISC24 Student Cluster Competition this spring!
We will be competing in the Winter Classic competiton again this spring!
